Muslim Girl, by MySurrender

The veil hides my soul.
Beauty locked in, away from prying eyes.
Can you see my sadness.
Can you feel my shame.
I walk down the street
I feel his eyes follow me.
Looking at me with longing - I too long
For the tender touch, just a brush past my shoulder.
I feel his breath.
I must run
Be safe from myself and what my heart truly yearns.
Lock me in my blackened cage
Perish for the sins of my thoughts.
I am born to serve
Not to live. |
