Blue Roses (Poem), by YourEyesMyWords Subscribe to rss feed for YourEyesMyWords

As the leaves tumble away,
the crisp air pinches my neck,
I feel numb.

And as the war starts,
the guns fire away,
not causing peace,
but a death.

And as i skip through the fragile stones,
each painted with pastel colors,
I come across a crystal clear lake,
i stumble upon the unclear human eye.

I pick them up and take them home;
a very rare and extraordinary find.
And as I lay them with care,
i happen to notice that some are bent.
I wonder why?

The poor things.
They have been through so much.
Thrown and kicked around by the animal from the forest.
They need care and love.
Acceptance as well.

So i quickly ran to my garden,
and moved all of my flower and vegetables.
The tomatoes and green beans,
the daisies and pansies,
all make way for this unique kind.

I try and make them grow,
by giving them water and time.
I give them the sun,
I give them the moon,
but yet it is so hard to keep them sometimes.

This is only because,
neighbors grow in envy of my special find,
and they will steal it,
ruin my soil,
or lie to everyone about them so it wouldn't look so
special,
and i would be looked down upon as a lier who paints their
petals.

But I know the truth,
and that is all that matters.
I don't need others to tell me how amazing these darlings
are.
I already know,
and their words don't matter.

And as time goes by,
I watch you grow,
into something that any normal human would not be able to
see.
It is a gift to be honored to view upon these beautiful
roses.

They are very easy to love,
yet i almost lost them,
because one day,
they refused to grow.

I gave them their food,
their water,
and love...
i guess it wasnt enough.

But it wasnt my fault,
the sun wouldnt shine.
it happened to be very cloudy that day.

But now,
as the sun shines,
my magnificent specimens grow,
and grow and grow and GROW!

And as they keep gettin' on taller,
they only seem to be shinin' even more,
just like a starlet.
If i had had to name you,
i would name u by the name that you go by.

Angel,
I love you,
you are my blue roses.
I'm glad we're together again.
