Innocence, by Disruptive Silence
|
Covering them like a cloth
So fragile, like the wings of a moth
It protects them from all the bad
Like a fighting world and abusive dads
It can be broken and never repaired
Can be washed away as if no one cared
The innocence only stays so long
Like a friend that will soon be gone
Anything and everything can make it leave
Especially the world, cruel and mean
When the innocence is unraveled
A child is no longer a child
The cloak is pulled off
It leaves the heart no longer soft |
