i dreamt i was a heroine, by twisted bean
|
i've got a lot to say -
expose the secrets of our day -
maybe it will clear the way
for something we don't have to fear
but i cannot find an ear
that will listen to what it will hear
so i'll just walk away
leave you to your coward's parade
marching off to die and decay
i may not outlive you by a year
but i've outlived you every day
and every single breath i take
i can't help but smile while you sneer
i can't help but cry while you cheer
but i understand what you don't cohere
and i understand why
i've got a lot to say -
so much it kills me every day
but there could never be a time or place
for me to let the words escape
their sanctuary in my brain
the only place they can be safe
until they're not |
