Defrosted, by bedazzled
|
Effervescent birdsong
and bubbles that fizz inside.
Hovering above the ground.
Even colours are brighter;
a secret artist
has taken his watercolours
to wash a little more blue
across the sky
and a little more green
amongst the grass.
The sun itself shines anew;
a buttery smile
that spreads warmth over cheeks
despite the icy air.
Winter loosens its stony frown,
its navy eyes soften as it watches us.
Hand in hand
and lips on lips,
we are defrosting,
we are coming out
of hibernation.
The universe that let
those icicles stab,
those snowflakes suffocate,
and that hail pelt,
has also conspired
to bring us together.
To wake dormant laughter
and childish delight.
and fiery desire.
And here,
in each other's arms,
is where we learn
to be summer again. |
