She Walks in Beauty, by MelissaJMc
|
She walks in beauty as the sky fills her eyes
The clouds are low and so is she
Not a witness to the wondrous nature around her, she sobs
And rocks pierce into her feet painfully
She sees a trail ahead but somehow is now lost
That was not the trail she wanted to take
It's path is just a little too worn
She wants to walk somewhere where she has to push away
branches with every step; Swatting at the mosquitos thick
in the humid air
Never to feel the cool breezes again, she said
Never to feel the real thing
