A Mirage of Perfection, by Enya
|
Searching for something,
someone to fill this empty space inside me.
Someone to consume this hollow loneliness
that eats at me in the echoes of my silence.
Where are you, do you even exist?
Or are you just another fictional character?
Am I just chasing a nonexistent mirage of perfection?
I wish I knew the answer
I wish I could find you,
the remedy to my loneliness.
You are the devastating want inside me
that never seems to be fulfilled.
I know you are out there, you have to be.
This pain cannot last much longer;
I need you to fix my shattered soul, my lost existence.
Sometimes, in the midst of my piercing silence,
in my empty thoughts
I doubt you,
I doubt your existence,
I don’t blame myself,
you seem so surreal.
But that empty space in my heart reminds me
I must not give up on you.
My mirage of Perfection.
Are you out there?
