"Sit up Straight!" "Tuck in you shirt!" "Take off all those bracelets!" "Be quiet!" "Act like a proper young lady!" I hear it all the time They try to make me the same as everyone else A proper young lady who does nothing wrong But that's not me I make mistakes I like jeans and t-shirts Not dresses and skirts I know I am diffrent I'm not one of there barbie clones I don't have that perfect smile or wavy blonde hair That make's everyone go crazy I'm just me And I'm fine with that They say i need to change Wear more dresses Pile on the make up and perfume But that's not me They say i need to wear my hair this way Or to change my style But that's not me They say i need to act proper To never yell or laugh loud I need to be quiet or i need to sit up straight But it's just not me I like me the way I am I think I'm awesome at being me So what I'm not Barbie I dont have my Ken but i will one day Because I'm not made out of plastic They can't molde me into they're 'perfect image' Like evryone else I'm just me, And you can't change that. Because everyone is already perfect In they're own way.
