The Storm 9/30/10

By Lara •
A chilling first encounter.
Bring your empty hearts, busted and asleep.
An unassuming flashed white shadow slowly begins to creep.
All behold the lightening.
Watchers envy in awe as electricity sparks the air.
White flashes amidst clouds trap hungry rabbits in its snare.
Bear witness to the thunder.
The drum’s rumbling chorus pierces deep into the soul.
No longer watching in rapture, unaware of heart’s own hole.
Oh, the affectation!
An alien curse bridging to horror down from heavens of delight.
Without the sun’s high guidance, we lust for never-ending night.
And let loose to the chaos.
For young stargazer’s resistance though neither hollow nor frail,
When up against such pleasing sleight of hand,
Is futile, useless, unavailing, must succumb — it is always damned to fail.
