the slow dance, by eleanor maslen

some of me died
that day you left us here
you didnt take us with you
you promised youd be near
My trust left when you did
my heart went with you too
my soul broke inside
our home is only you
the light flickered and died
the tunnel became so dark
the road to life so bumpy
the scars my only mark
I say one day we'll meet
maybe in gods home
but what if i dont make it
and here im left alone.
what if im forgotten
left here to die
what if my tears are silent
and only inside i cry
i feel like i dont belong
no matter where i go
dad i think im dying
painful and so slow.
