Bitter Smile

Look into my eyes,
what you see will never go away.
The pain, the bitterness,
it all gets deeper everyday.
I hold on to my bitter smile,
waiting and hoping, that it will soon fade away.
I have held this pain inside of me
for much too long,
I can't hold out for much longer,
I don't know how to go on.
I live in my dreams,
hoping to accomplish them,
never even getting close.
No one ever hears these silent screams
they are imbedded deep inside,
slowly killing me.
I look at the world,
and wonder where I went wrong.
I wonder why God hates me,
and when I will finally belong.
