God, by Mahmud Vellani
|
There exists in the minds of men
A beauty that is God
Where as clear as the chimes of the clock
Unspoken words are said.
The autumn leaves we loved and took
The myriad paths we trod
They smile, if we only look!
They are but parts of God.
God is the water in the lake
Oblivion of Mars is less deep
Lets seek it awake or asleep
Beneath the enchanting stars.
God is truth and God is goodness
Someday amidst the strife
A soft contended sleepiness
It will come
Not death, but Life!
