The Sea (Original Song) , by Parkerjacks
|
I thought the sea was lovely.
A very pretty sight.
I liked to lay upon the sand
Out by the waves at night.
I dreamed of setting sail
Surrounded by this love
To taste the salty, misty air
Floating up above.
I fell in love with the sea.
I fell in love with the sea.
I fell in love with the sea,
But it didn't love me.
I thought the sea was like you
Gentle, soft, and calm.
But I'm afraid to admit
For both I had been wrong
The sea got louder in my ears.
The feeling was too strong.
I'd run in and get pushed out again
Like I didn't belong.
I fell in love with the sea
But it didn't love me
I swam in one last time
Until there was no land.
My legs grew tired and my arms grew stiff.
My toes searching for sand.
I realized I had won at last.
The ocean pulled me down.
I smiled to myself content
As I began to drown.
I fell in love with the sea
But it didn't love me.
No, you didn't love me. |
