Game Over

By Darkblade County

Stats frozen, game over, health dropping, game over, powers depleted, game over. A hero I am, no longer strong, my meaning diminished, like it was all along. Can't I stay, in my city and play, my friends are gone, game over. My cape tattered, ripped, broken, game over, my mask burned, game over, my strength gone, game over. I see the countdown, only thirty seconds left, game over. I see a light, a beacon of hope, coming my way, too dark to reach, my hand stretches, I grasp the handle, I hold it high. Game over? I think not, My torch of hope, no hero left to die, thank you friends, for that encouraging cry, you saved me from, game over.

Actually, this was not symbolism. It was for the game City of Heroes that was shut down November 30th. This is actually what happened in the game and we used a torch emote to create a candlelight vigil and we stood at city hall from August 31st to Nov 30 holding torches and trying to get our game back. Our torch I guess you could say was a symbol, a symbol of hope for our game.
