the home, by eleanor maslen

This home is broken with empty souls
not able to warm when life leaves them cold
this home is a shell of its former glory
waiting for the moment to tell its story
the one with the girl who fell in love
and flew in the clouds high up above
the one were she rasied her king and queens
and they were the happiest this world had seen
but soon came death and lose and pain
the home closed its eyes but this in vain
for it could still hear the children weep
as they were robbed of precious sleep
for a hole had formed in this family home
and the home itself felt so alone
its walls cried to see this joy
ripped from the heart of the only boy
with the father gone and the only man
he would help the family stand
once again to raise there heads
for all is not lost now their father is dead.
