A Whet Memory, by Albert Ahearn
|
The looming, gray, cloud-covered sky
Have all the makings of a storm.
There is little wind to speak of
And there is no doubt it will rain.
Personally, rain or the threat
Of rain has never dissuaded
Me from anything my heart was
Set on doing. I actually
Enjoy the rain, I always did;
Even as a little barefoot
Boy I loved being out in it
While my friends were housebound and dry
Peering outside through foggy panes
At their strange but happy playmate.
