my father

They say there was a man, a man who followed her to the very edge of existence and brought her back from the brink. A man who held her hand through ever battle even when he could no longer fight.
They say he gave her hope when all hope had gone, that he gave his life to her so she could spread her wings into the stars and achieve anything she could dream up. They say his mind was a lace of scars for when pain come knocking it was only ever him who greeted it. They say his very soul was passed to her so she could live on, so she could love and so she could die, when her time came and never a moment to soon. They say he fought demons and angels alike so she could walk the earth strong and proud.
They say there was never a man so kind.
Never a man so beautiful.
Never a man so determined.
Never a man...Like her Father.
