Friend, by Robert fraser

How can one define in just a simple line
The joy the love that your friendship brings
You read between the words
pick up on the pain and hurt
Never judging or saying go away, not now
And do your best my mind to divert
You are a light in the dark a real living spark,
You make the world turn away from the black and dark
The tears are wiped away by your hand
With your kindness even from a distant land
Your heart and soul I can tell
Will never suffer the torment of hell
The beauty of a person is often judged by the outer skin
It is not often we bother to look within
Only special friends and those with love
Can read between those lines.
