Country Summer, by *~Mik@y1@~*
|
Sun in the sky
Burning so hot.
Swim in the river
To cool off.
Walking barefoot
Through the grass.
The cool of the mornings
Never does last.
Sitting on the porch
Drink in hand,
Watching children
At their lemonade stand.
Family barbecues
All over town.
Cruising along back roads,
With the windows down.
Windows open,
Listening to the rain.
Being in the city
Just isn’t the same.
Laying on the tailgate
Gazing at the stars in the sky.
Admiring the beauty
With another by your side.
Lightning bugs,
Chasing little lights in the dark.
Fireworks explode
And leave a mark.
Spending days
Floating along.
Spending nights
Dancing to every song.
County fairs,
Here and there.
Music and camaraderie
Fills the air.
Campfires, s’mores,
All around.
A country summer;
The best thing I have found. © |
