Ringing, by Shauna DesJardins
|
I've never heard silence
It's always been there
That ringing in my ear
Like a high pitched whistle
Constant and consistent
Even when all other sounds
Die down and sleep
The ringing in my ear
Still repeats
I want to know silence
I want to know quiet
Maybe then my mind can think
A second of piece and serenity
That's all I wish for
At a time like this |
