Deceit, by *~Mik@y1@~*
|
I’m running down a path
That never seems to end.
Something keeps chasing me.
I have no one to defend.
It keeps coming after me;
I never can rest.
What more can it want?
I’ve given my very best.
I’m standing on the very edge,
Hanging off a precipice.
The rain is pouring.
The rocks are slick.
I’m desperately holding on
With all the strength I’ve got.
I’m slipping, slipping, falling away;
But a desire to save me, you have not.
I didn’t see you coming
Faster than the speed of light.
Your pressure is now upon me,
Crushing all my strength to fight.
I hate your influence,
It’s trapping me against my will.
It’s too busy crushing, destroying,
To care how I feel.
Sometimes I hate you,
Never want to see you again.
I swear I’ll escape
From this prison you have me in.
I’ve struggled, I’ve strained,
For my will how hard I’ve fought.
I’ve tried so many times,
But I’ve always lost.
You have something
That keeps me here.
I feel I’ll never escape.
The bonds are so severe.
All the power, your lies,
Make me believe,
I’m happy, comfortable,
And I never want to leave. © |
