The things we forget that can change a childs life Words When we get older We tend to forget so much about the past We worry about the stupid things Not thinking about what can make things last We have learned from words of wisdom Things others have shared along the way You wouldn’t think we have learned anything Just by the words we say Our mouth tends to open Various words spilling out The kind of words That make others scream and shout Getting caught up In a world of our own We generally don’t see the affect Or how our ignorance has grown Especially if were married A couple joined as one Most generally Having created a daughter or a son The first thing we do Is praise thanks for the little child Watch them grow Until the get a little wild Then we have stress and our lives turn upside down Not even realizing Children can see words When they see us frown Then we start to fight Our children see it all They run to another place And they quietly ball Crying their eyes out Feeling not wanted or loved They cry in that little place Where they feel they have been shoved The things we forget Is being selfish is so easy to do When all we think about Is ourselves and not the children too So forgetting things We have learned in the past Are most likely Things to make a relationship last It’s all the things that we know make us strong things we just forget about which we’ve known all along Maybe we should stop and think About the words that we say Especially in front of our children So they don’t feel to run away Be a better person Full of love and care Speak out and say your sorry And you’ll always be there Try to share your love Give a smile to your child And don’t get stressed out When they get a little wild They are not little forever As they will grow old someday too Share your love with them And they will love you too Words are very powerful Please think about what you say Share your wisdom with your children And they will grow to be better in every way Wayne Searles 20 July 2004 Copyright © waynster ...
