He stands there strong
Dressed to fight
He’s honor bound
To do what’s right
For love of country
He’s proud to serve
When he is called
He’ll do his best
He’ll give his all
For love of country
He’ll go on point
To clear the way
He’ll risk his life
Both night and day
For love of country
He’ll sleep at night
Upon the ground
He’ll clean his gun
He’ll count his rounds
For love of country
He’ll freeze all night
He’ll sweat all day
He’ll do this all
For little pay and
Love of country
If he survives
And makes it home
He finds it hard
He feels alone
He needs his country
