The Poem That I'd Never Write

By Where The World Ends

I forgive you I can’t forgive the action But I forgive the actor The forgiveness is palpable Amidst the fear I don’t forgive you It tears my soul It gnaws at my heart The fear that demands; I have been forgiven I cannot be forgiven What does it mean The cycle that splashes Through my veins from my heart Frozen, dead at the scene Blue like the lips of the corpse Drowned by the inability To make a choice And the fear dissipates Like the puff of an Uncommitted smoker But you meant it And no one will forgive Or understand That to live in fear of life Is worse than To live in fear of death I am free But forgiveness won’t come
