Imaginings, by Lunaria

Imaginings
Sitting in a darkened room
Only a candle flame for light
Slowly my mind starts to bloom
My imaginings take flight
I am a leading lady
In a great play of all time
Even though my character is shady
In this role I am sublime
I am the Queen of Sheba
My charms are too many to name
Although they call me 'Gleba'...(puff ball, stink horn)
I have such great acclaim
And now I'm a golden fairy
Flitting from flower to flower
And being oh so merry
Hour after hour after hour
Now I'm a captain of a ship
In a terrible, dangerous storm
I follow every detail of the script
And as an actor I am born
My mind is getting tired
Of imagining all these roles
I just get too inspired
Pretending to be all these souls
So I blow out the candle flame
And put myself to bed
I'll dream I am an important dame
I know it's all in my head.
