John Paul 'The Great' Supreme Pontiff of the church of Rome Two large angels came to take you home Oh vicar of Christ on Earth You took with you people's joy and mirth For many years you ruled in Rome Even though Poland was your home You ruled with a loving hand Your command went throughout the land You made yourself a people's pope Perhaps to give the people hope That if your teachings they'd abide In heaven that's where they'd reside You were the vicar of Christ on Earth And now you've had your second birth I give you love and admiration sir So does all of heaven. We all concur You wore the robes of royalty People gave you allegiance, loyalty Laid in state for all to see Worshippers passed to say goodbye to thee The world is dark and sad indeed Your light left us. Now we're in need Of one to come and take your place One from heavens ranks. One that is chase When you reached heaven's door A throng of high beings their love did pour On you. Then God said, "Welcome home, my son" " Well done, well done" Now your shell lies in a grotto deep People that loved you now weep Nevermore to see your face Some one else shall take your place But can they ever fill your shoes? Will they ever tell the good news Like you? We miss you. You were the best And now you have a well deserved rest I say goodbye to you forever now Adieu, chow, shalom and I do avow Your spirit shall learn in the upper realm Someone shall fill your place at the lower helm.
