Ascension Of The Old Ones

Ascension Of The Old Ones Heavy gray clouds hold back the sun Thunder rumbles in the distance Furry creatures for their holes run In this they need no assistance A lightning spear is hurled from sky Embeds in the trunk of an Oak Sensitive souls hear the tree cry Fatality with a first stroke His life must now end and I weep Hundreds of years, here he was born Tree friend's pain for him go deep This is one sent from source storm His spirit rises into the arms above His body lay on the ground below It was time to leave. He has much love From spirit and now he does glow More trees are sacrificed this night Most of the old ones are taken All is calm by morning light The young trees feel so forsaken Gaping holes line the forest floor Where once the old ones stood Will it ever be the same as before? Young trees would leave if they could Two very old trees now remain They cover the young ones with their arm To comfort and take away the pain And protect them from all harm A storm from source to gather the old one It was time for them to come home Their job on Earth was finally done We salute them, job well done and shalom The sun comes out. It's rays are strong Earth is bathed in light All is well. There's been no wrong Done on Earth tonight. Copyright © 2005 Lunaria (Lila May Guptill)
