I Won't Say Goodbye, by Lunaria

I Won't Say Goodbye
I won't say goodbye, though we must part
Remember you are hidden in my heart
Forgetting you? Not ever. You mean so much to me
Forever you'll be in my memory
I'll remember your rivers so clear and clean
And also your valleys so peaceful and serene
I'll remember your mountains so brave and high
And your forests too with trees touching the sky
Warm winds blowing my hair so flaxen spun
Being washed by the rain, dried by the sun
Your sequestered caverns were my special place
The memory of these I can never erase
No, I won't say goodbye just so long
I will not weep . I'll be ever so strong
For in a few years I'll come to you once more
You are the planet that I love and adore
Oh, earth, my Earth you are being born anew
That's why for awhile I must leave you
I, too, will be whole and how new I'll be
Earth lets quietly imagine what we'll foresee
Now I look at you with a watery gaze
You're fading fast. I see you now through a haze
I won't say goodbye I'll just say so long
Soon before you know it I'll be back where I belong.
