THE CROSS ROADS, by Melissa Slates
|
OUT THE DOORS OF LOVE,
IN THE JAWS OF HATE.
WITH A HEART THAT COULD END UP,
IN ANY KIND OF FATE.
AN UNEXPECTED PREDITOR,
A THEIF IN THE NIGHT.
IS STALKING MY EVERY THOUGHT,
AND BLOCKING ME FROM THE LIGHT.
THE MIRROR IN MYSELF,
MAGNIFIES MY PLIGHT.
BUT THE VOICE OF A BRIGHTER FUTURE,
IS DAMN NEAR WORTH THE FIGHT.
THE BLACK GATE IS CLOSED BEHIND ME,
AND I'M HOMEWARD BOUND.
BUT THE JOURNEY TO THE CROSSROADS,
IS HARDER THAN IT SOUNDS.
THERE'S DEMONS TO THE LEFT OF ME,
ANGELS TO THE RIGHT.
AN ETERNITY WITH THE DARK,
OR AN ETERNITY WITH THE LIGHT?
