SURGAR COATED SIN, by Melissa Slates
|
WHERE HAVE ALL THE CHILDREN GONE?
FOR THE SCARE CROW NO LONGER SINGS HIS SONG.
TOO MUCH SUGAR FOR THE CANDY MAN
STARDUST MEMORIES IN A PLASTIC LAND.
SAND AND FOAM HE CLOATHED HIS OWN
NOTHING SACRED TO ALL ON LOAN.
A MOMENT OF REST UPON THE WIND
FOR THE HIDDEN WHISPER IS FOUND WITHIN.
NOW THE DREAMS HAVE FLED MY MIND
SLEEP MY LITTLE DEAD AND YOU'LL BE FINE.
LISTEN TO THE STILLNESS OF THE RAGEING NIGHT
CLOSE YOUR EYES AND HOLD ON TIGHT.
THE DEVIL GRINS FROM THE CIRCUS CLOUDS
WHILE THE PLASTIC PEOPLE RUN ABOUT.
THE ANGELS WILL FALL FROM THE LIQUID SKY
DAWN OF THE DEATH HE DID CRY.
AGAIN AND ANGAIN BUT WE DON'T KNOW WHY.
