My Broken Promises, by Cutie In A Death Cab
|
tomorrow
i said i'd start tomorrow
i'd begin this new lifestyle
i'd walk the extra mile
i'd live like i should
i'd do all i could
push down the dark
and lift up the light
hide all the black
and search for colors bright
tomorrow
i said i'd start tomorrow
i'd throw away the trash
and not just sweep it under the rug
i'd return all of the sand
to the deep hole that i've dug
find the true meaning
to the life that i should lead
plant new delicate flowers
and rid of all the weeds
tomorrow
i said i'd start tomorrow
i'd break down my barricade
and build a tiny fence
with walls not so restricting
but short, sturdy, and dense
make a conscious effort
to take a new outlook
re-write the past few pages
of this eternal book
tomorrow
i said i'd start tomorrow
tomorrow
tomorrow never came
