The Letter

I wrote a letter to you once;
But you never replied
Were you too busy?
Or couldn’t you be bothered?

My mummy said you were busy
My daddy said that you were naughty
My sister said you couldn’t be bothered

I wrote a letter to you once;
But you never replied
Were you too busy?
Or couldn’t you be bothered?

I needed your help once
I needed you to get rid of the bullies
I needed you to comfort me;
And tell me it was all going to be alright

I wrote a letter to you once;
But you never replied
Were you too busy?
Or couldn’t you be bothered?

I needed you to hold my hand
And tell me that it would all be ok
I needed you to protect me

I wrote a letter to you once;
But you never replied
Were you too busy?
Or couldn’t you be bothered?

I needed you to stop my pain
I wanted you to help me fight off the bullies
I needed you to help me make friends

I wrote a letter to you once;
But you never replied
Were you too busy?
Or couldn’t you be bothered?

I needed you to tell me;
That I was loved
That I was liked

I wrote you a letter once;
But you never replied
Were you too busy?
Or couldn’t you be bothered?

Now I’m sitting up in my room;
Writing my last ever letter
Tears pouring down my cheeks

I wrote a letter to you once;
But you never replied
Were you too busy?
Or couldn’t you be bothered?

I wanted you to tell me that I was something;
That I had a life;
That I shouldn’t throw it all away

I wrote a letter to you once;
But you never replied
Were you too busy?
Or couldn’t you be bothered?

I hope you’re pleased with yourself
That little girl you failed to help
She’s dead!
