Happy Family, by Kar
|
A snapshot of our joy
Don't we look lovely?
Smiles frozen in time
Such a happy family
But the glass is cracked
Before the others and me
The frame is pale and faded
Such a happy family
Gaze at us as we pose
But you still can't see
The betrayal and the pain
Such a happy family
Did they lie when they promised
By our sides they'd always be?
Well now they've gone away
Such a happy family
Had they planned this all along
Laughing with us freely?
Did they wait for that moment?
Such a happy family
The snapshot hangs above
My fist smashing viciously
Why did you abandon us?
We had such a happy family

after my Dad's side of the family abandoned us.* |
