Christmas 2003, by Lunaria
|
The trees are laden with new fallen snow
The presents are wrapped, each with a bow
The Christmas Cactus is in bloom
Announcing that Christmas will be soon
The tinsel is hanging on the tree
The resident mice scamper in glee
On the windows snow flakes flutter
Icecicles hang from the gutter
The fire place is crackling and glowing
Outside it just keeps on snowing
The house is decked out in silver and gold
Outside is getting so very cold
The bird bath is heated warm
And thirsty birds to it do swarm
The feeder is full for the wildlife here
They wait for their extra christmas cheer
Inside our stockings are hung in red
And we are cozy in our bed
My cat purrs softly by my side
As she dreams of where the mice abide
This is Christmas where I live
This is Christmas in MinneSNOWta
