The long good-bye, by Salem
|
I press my face against the cold window
it has just begun to rain
each drop hitting the ground like a million broken dreams
each taking the hope of tomorrow with it.
You taught me trust but now all I know is hatred
as each drop fades into the pavement it reminds me of
your every memory fading into the emptiness of my heart.
It's hard to believe something so strong, so complex
was easily forgotten.
The things I now feel for you Im unable to describe them
it is an inner battle between what you deserve and what
I've already given you.
My darkest secrets are engraved in your heart
and sit at the tip of your tongue threatening to come out.
It was a fairy tale begining...too good to be true.
We were held together by something beyond the ordinary.
It was never strong enough and change broke that bond
little by little we went our separate ways.
Now you say I'm dead to you,
so i guess this is me
haunting you from the grave. |
