The Line, by Don't build lies on ice cubes.
|
This line of thread is vulnerable
It snags with one remark
No common ground between the two
All there is is light and dark
This line is there to mark the end
Where love turns into hate
A line so thin its hard to see
Before it is too late
This line is one I daren't cross
Yet I flirt between the two
Keep pushing every bound
To see when I'll hate you
This line is there for a purpose
Yet I ignore the rule
I'll stand and lie across it
And then who'll look the fool
Theres equal thirst on either side
For an emotion where you can feel
This love I see is solipsistic
Yet the hate is just as real
There's a problem with this line
For it only works one way
If I hate its because I love
No matter what I say
This line does not allow for
wrong to fuel what's right
The good comes first followed by evil
Like the day that turns to night
This line marks the turning point
And on it I spin around
A catalyst in this equilibrium
I'm trapped to which I am bound
The irony does not escape me
How I chose this path
When once upon a time I loved
And now you see my wrath
But then I can revert back
And can reclaim what I know is mine
For that's the hopeless reality
Of flirting between the line
