Vengeance, by Kar
|
A lone figure stood upon a street
Gazing silently in the night
The rain pattered on the pavement
Illuminated by a street light
The figure began its journey
One of loneliness and lies
Beatrayed and long forgotten
Endless pain behind its eyes
It saw the real world
Accepted every blow and attack
The figure never had the courage
To defend itself or to fight back
It protected everyone it loved
But the figure became left behind
No one remembered its kindness
Nor heard a little voice in their mind
And solemnly it still wanders
Playing over every memory
It continues down the quiet road
The path curving aimlessly
Though it was a guardian
To those it thought had cared
It never thought to protect itself
From the world waiting out there
To this day it walks alone
Has regained all its sense
This creature goes by a new name
That title is 'Vengeance'
