Thanksgiving 2005
There's a nip in the air if the truth be told
There's no snow on the grounds
But the harvest abounds
Lots of pumkin and squash to be had
Tomatoes, potatoes and carrots to add
Baskets of veggies out on the lawn
They'll be there til well after dawn
Inside the house the mistress is there
With apron on and a net on her hair
Getting ready the pots and the pans
And making thanksgiving dinner plans
Old Tom Turkey is happy as a bird
He's roamin' around, guess he hasn't heard
Tomorrow he's going to be thankgiving dinner
He's going to be a few feathers thinner
The day has arrived . The table is set
This is going to be a fine dinner, you bet
Sweet potatoes, white potatoes and cranberry sauce
And a marvelous salad that just needs a toss
Around the table with napkins under their chin
Everyone ready with forks and a wide grin
Ma into the kitchen to bring in the platter
Pa ready to carve it but somethin's the matter
Under the cover and on the platter is no turkey bird
A terrible mistake seems to have occured
There flat on the platter is a pizza pie
Pa looks at ma and asks why
I raised him from an egg. I am his mother
I won't eat him and neither will no other
Like it or not you'll eat pizza this day
And I won't have it any other way
So the whole family was very subdued
And each one of them knew they were screwed
Out side Tom Turkey was one happy bird
Knowing that no turkey eating was the word
