The Ethereal Art of Drowning, by Faith Subscribe to rss feed for <font color=crimson>Faith

The stars were shimm'ring in the gath'ring dark of the
vaulted
sky.
The moon stared on through the twilight, a lidless,
unblinking
eye.

The air was thick with cold as I passed beneath
the
eventide.
I sank deep below the surface, seamlesly let go,
and
died.

I gave in to the hunger of the void that swallowed
me
whole,
The deeper I sank, the more it became my breath and
my
soul.

I felt insatiable thirst for the darkness that held
me
tight.
The torrent of fathomless bliss devour'd my thoughts, stole
my
sight.

Then as I closed my eyes, euphoria stabbing like
a
knife,
You appeared, engulfed the shadows, and you brought me back
to
life.

I knew not from whence you came, I only knew this much
was
true:
There, on the shores of the morning, life was empty without
you.

--A poem written in September of last year. It took me forever to perfect, but I really like the way this one turned out! There's a certian rythem I was aiming for. What do you think of it though?--
