Observer, by bedazzled
|
The sun dances warmly
over a green courtyard
trembling with the laughter
of friends temporarily free.
A girl with blonde curls
leans against a tired wall,
behind sparkling blue eyes
thoughts begin to pounce.,
Gold-edged daydreams
litter her lonely mind,
scars criss-cross her heart
and silence traces her mouth.
With no apparent emotion
she watches miserably
the couple holding hands,
staring at the boy.
She is envious
and the blue eyes cloud over
with bitter-sweet memories
bouncing through mists.
He holds the hand unaware
of the way it tortures another
although he can't deny
that some connection remains.
He still can't help laughing
aAt every joke she makes
but he has chosen another,
time has intervened.
Her body aches with lonliness
as in the breeze her curls sway,
she still fails to ignore
the eternally corrosive need.
