Corroding, by bedazzled
|
Hopes cascading gently
down the waterfall,
smashing against the rocks,
dreamily swirling away.
Luck sprays into droplets,
creating rainbow prisms,
shimmering on the earth,
evaporating in the sun.
Passion gently flutters
within each constrained breath,
strangling on voice
and parolling thoughts.
Anger hotly simmers,
pulsing to it's beat,
hurtling through veins,
infiltrating the mind.
Happiness plays in shadows,
dodging behind trees,
it allows a moment of sunshine
as it runs for cover.
Fire burns through logic,
ashes are compressed,
corrosive memories,
encounter the present.

My advice to you would be to write like this more often! Sometimes rhyme schemes can end up hindering us. I love all your work, and your rhyming poems are beautiful, but I think you might find writing poetry like this very rewarding in its own way. This poem seems so free and unrestrained to me. You have a talent, I'd say explore it! |
