Goodbye Pain, Hello Love, by Lillian
|
I know we got off on the wrong foot,
But now I can't see myself living without you.
The life you had,
You gave up to be with me.
The placebo I couldn't pull out of,
I broke free from for you.
I'm sorry for the days I first despised you,
Because that was all so stupid.
I'm glad I said yes when you offered up a lunchtime,
Where I finally hung out with you for real.
Suddenly you were all I could think about,
Especially that Monday before you kissed me.
You looked into my eyes under the stairs and said,
"Will you be my girlfriend?"
Oh and how I'll never forget November 22nd,
And that thing you did to my neck.
Shooting pool in the presence of a foreigner,
Hearing that horrible country music in my ears.
I would never trade the last few months for anything,
Because you made them what they are.
I never saw any of this coming,
But now I only come for you.
Thank you for taking me out of one world,
Just to pull me into yours.

I like your work here, especially since it's such a change from the annoying, depressing, suicidal poems you see on here a lot. I like the sense of every-day life you bring here? Making it easy and accessible. |
