Chapter One, by Matthew Grode
|
The days grow colder and so do I,
As I wipe the mist from my weathered eyes,
I've seen alot throught the years,
Battled through hardships and faced my greatest fear,
I could fill the ocean with all my regrets,
But life is a gamble that feeds on the bet,
I've seen loved ones pass before their time,
I've made mistakes I can admit were mine,
I'm holding the pen with many pages to write,
As I wait for the dawn to welcome the night,
Through the dark shadows the sun is still shinning,
This quiet moment makes the world less confining,
As I stare in the distance the past starts to thin,
If life is a game I won't quit till I win,
I've been through alot and the journey has just begun,
As I turn the last page of chapter one.
