The Judgement, by Matthew Grode
|
Today I look at my life as a tear rolls down my eye,
A silent rush of all the years swiftly pass me by,
My triumps and defeats quickly come to mind,
But what happened in between will ech the walls of time,
There will be no more years to right all my wrongs,
I sang a couple verses but I couldn't find a song,
My only enemy has always been my mind,
It reminds me of the past I cannot put behind,
Razor sharp regrets begin to rip apart my soul,
As my body edges toward the eternal gapping hole,
I stand before my judgement with only silence to explain,
Because in my heart I know I deserve the endless pain,
The life I lived was longing for perfection,
But I always turned away when I saw my true reflection |
