Around the corner, by Innocent until proven Guilty
|
Around the corner I have a friend,
In this great city that has no end.
Yet the days and weeks go on,
And before I know it, a year is gone.
And I never see my old friend's face,
For life is a swift and terrible race,
He knows I like him just as well,
As in the days when I rang his bell.
If, we were mature then,
And now we are busy, tired men.
Tired of playing a foolish game,
Tired of trying to make a name.
" Tomorrow" I say "I will call him"
"Just to show that I'm thinking of him.'
But tomorrow comes and goes
And, that distance between us grows and grows
Around the corner! Yet miles away,
" Heres a telegram- Your boy died today.
And thats what we get and deserve in the end.
Around the corner, vanished a friend.

Thats really beautiful. So many people speak of things like this, but less than often does it ever happen. Well done. |

Oh, this is so sad! This is a truth if I have ever read one. Procrastination is the enemy of the soul and bodyit is definately not a friend of us.This poem has such emotion in it, I think I will call a friend and loved one up today for a visit!
Thank you
