The Devil and Me, by Dark Neko
|
I watched as it crumbled
polished diamonds to dust.
I watched as it turned
solid gold into rust.
I watched as it closed
the vacant eyes of a child.
While people cried,
I watched as it smiled.
I watched as it turned
ice into flame.
I watched as it left
while I hid in shame.
It came to take me
in the night,
but though I hid
I wouldn't fight.
It tried to take me;
to pull me under.
It used it's might
like a god of thunder.
My strength was gone,
so the devil, he won.
But my life had not ended
it had just begun.
The devil and I;
we fought once more,
and ten years later
I won the war.
Although right now,
I'm dead you see,
but the story lives on
about the devil and me. |
