Your Gift (19)

By Angel of Music

How to thank you for all that you do? Not even a gift of rare jewels would do. A gift of silks and furs from lands afar? Not even spices or gold from a foreign bazaar. If I could I would give you all of these things, and not even repay the gift you give without strings. You give money and time, knowledge and smiles, And even in bad times you make everything worthwhile. With a smile in your eyes and a song on your lips, You make every day almost perfect bliss. Yet not one of these things is the gift on my mind, For a gift like your love I will never again find. So how do I thank you? How would I know? There is not one thing I could do my gratitude to show. But one thing for certain I know I shall do, I shall aspire to one day be a mother just like you.

She must have been very proud, and for a very good reason. I easily connected with this poem, I did the same for my parents! Very good at expressing your emotions!
