Flightless, by Faith
|
You are alone--
lonely--
with a loveliness
that remains
hidden
from the world.
A beauty
that remains
behind
your eyes.
Let me gather you--
cold and distant,
beautiful--
into myarms
until you remember
sensations lost.
As the tingling
begins
in fingertips
and toes;
warmth returning
as love drenches
your soul.
The cadence
of a fluttering heartbeat
of breath
in asphixiated lungs.
Let me hold you--
broken wings,
flightless--
close,
wounds healing.
Eyes locked
with mine--
soul mended--
strength returns
and fills you.
You are not perfect,
but you
must soar.
While I
wait alone
for you to find
your way
back
to me.

this is a fantastic poem because of its feeling expressed and the way it was written....spectacular job! |
