What's it like to be in love?
To have someone I'm always thinking of?
Well, she's my last thought as I go to bed,
And as I dream, she's in my head.
Her beauty mesmorizes all the while.
I take it all in - her grace, her smile.
Woe is me, it's but a dream,
But I'm the lucky man, it seems,
For when I wake, she says hello.
She's not really there, but I don't let her go.
I rest easy inside - a new feeling for me -
Knowing that by my side is where she'll soon be.
I peruse through my clothes, to dress head to toe,
In what I think she'll like best, my attempt to glow.
Too dull, too loud, overused, too torn...
Aha! She said she liked this one before.
Now to get clean - I turn on the water.
If it weren't for her, I wouldn't bother.
She always bring out the best in me -
All that is good, she makes me complete.
Dry off and dress, it's off to her home,
Which is so inviting, I could call it my own.
Ding-dong, I walk through the door.
To see her face - what I've waited for.
A kiss and a hug before she says hello.
She's really here, and I don't let her go. |
