Choice, by bedazzled
|
I fight the wavelengths
that reach
into my brain,
weave amongst the connections,
tug here,
file there.
I don't want to know.
I shadow them out,
push them into dark corners
where they fizzle and spark,
furious and strong.
But my heart turns up the volume,
pounds out the rhythm,
'til the base line booms
in my veins.
I get lost in the torrents
of conflicting sound;
my head says this,
my heart screams that
and the poison begins
to corrode.
I love you
but I can't
keep bleeding.
I want him
but I can't
repress.
The choice claws
at my bones,
battles for my attention.
Head or heart,
what's it gonna be?
I shut the wavelengths
off.
